Rebecca Wong - Team Leader and Room 25 Teacher
Stephanie Williams - Room 19 Teacher
My name is Stephanie Williams. I am a new teacher at Gulf Harbour School this year. I am passionate about helping children find their own pathways in learning. My proudest achievements have been my degrees in Psychology and Counselling, my post graduate degree in Teaching and of course, my 6 year old daughter Tayla. I enjoy teaching all areas of the curriculum but have a passion for reading, writing and the social sciences. During the weekends I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, bush walks and shopping!
Xavietta De Lautour - Room 20 Teacher
Hi my name is Xavietta de Lautour or Xav for short. I am in my 2nd year at Gulf Harbour School. My passion is in art and design and developing creativity within the students.
Nathan Hanwell - Room 22 Teacher
Hi! I've now been teaching for 13 years, 12 of which was in the UK. I was born in Oxford and lived in the Oxford area for the first 40 years of my life, before making the move to New Zealand and I've not looked back! I love teaching as it is an area that you can really make a difference and no two days are the same. It is also wonderful to go home knowing that you may have had a positive impact on a child's life (even a little bit!).
Proudest Achievement
Passing my BA in English Literature and also passing my Post Graduate Degree in Education. Also, being very proud father to my 3-year old daughter, Hazel
Hobbies and Interests
I love sport, mainly watching (Rugby, Formula One) and playing (Tennis, snooker). I also love walking and exploring the environment, as well as very occasional fishing and swimming in the sea!
Mantra
I find it important in life to celebrate the small things, and not to berate yourself too much when things go wrong. I tend to follow Nelson Mandela's Mantra, which went something along the lines of -
"I don't want to be judged on my successes, but on how I responded to my failures"
Kirsten Kiatta - Room 25 Teacher
Kia Ora! My name is Kirsten Kiata. I have been teaching for 12 years, 8 of them being at GHS. Over the years I have been lucky enough to move around the different age groups where I have taught Year 3 & 4, Year 5, and Year 7.
This year I am GHS’ Math Lead teacher and Mathletics co-ordinator, and I am loving the new opportunities and experiences that have come with the role. I grew up on the North Shore, but made the move up the Coast in 2012 with my husband, Josh, who grew up in Army Bay.
Teaching was always a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl, and it is certainly living up to what I thought it would be like. It is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world, and one of the most fun.
During the weekends I enjoy spending time with my husband. We love exploring the Coast and spending time with family and friends. Our favourite pastime is going for early morning sunrise or late night walks at our local beach (Big Manly).
